Hey guys,
I was working on the common 4 door ground problem this afternoon and something has happened that is causing a no start, no crank problem. I connected my new supplimental grounds (from townsend site) to a wire run from the negative terminal of the battery. While I was testing the turn signals out suddenly I heard a fuse pop and my park brake dash light illuminated. I disconnected my supplimental ground and returned everything back to the way I found it. Checked the fuses and found my turnsignal fuse (15amp) fried and my back up light fuse (20amp) killed as well. I replaced the fuses and when trying to start the car I get normal operation when the key is turned to on, but when switched to run to start the car nothing happens and it acts almost like someone is connecting and reconnecting the batter really fast. My aftermarket alarm is being activated by the power on and off (for the record it does not disable the car)and my oil and battery dash indicator (idiot lights) flash as if someone is turning on and off power. The starter doesn't make a sound at all, so there is no cranking. The car I'm refering to is my 1987 900s 2.0 N/A 5speed. I haven't been able to run any voltage checks as my volt ohm meter is at my parents house about 20 miles away and it got dark on my outside. Could this be the starter, or sylenoid (spelling?) perhaps. Please help guys thanks
Michael
