I think you may be confusing the APC with the Cruise control.
On the LH fender - literally on the curve of metal over the tire, there is a vacuum pump and two switches. The pump has one hose running from it. That is the cruise control pump - it supplies the vacuum that controls an actuator inside the dashboard that pulls on a chain to control the throttle. One of those switches detects if the cruise control is on (vacuum on), and sends that signal to the APC box to limit boost. Boost is limited if the CC is on. I can't remember the use of the other switch right now.
You have the LH2.2 in your '87, so there is no pressure transducer (MAP, or Manifold Absolute Pressure). The engine control doesn't measure manifold pressure directly - only you know it from the boost gauge.
As I remember, the APC solenoid is mounted at the left side of the radiator. It is a flat cylinder, about an inch and change in diameter, with an electrical connector coming out the top (two wires), and three hose nipples (ports). One hose goes to the wastegate actuator under the turbo. One hose goes to the intake hose before the turbo. The third port connects up to the intake plenum up by the throttle plate.
There are a few vacuum hoses running through the firewall. One is from the Cruise control pump. The hose from the throttle plate area to the APC solenoid actually has a plastic "T" in it, and the third leg goes through the firewall right around the brake booster area. This line goes to the boost gauge in the dashboard, and to the Overboost switch. The overboost switch is in the driver's footwell, to the right of the clutch pedal, on the cabin side of the firewall but behind the carpeting. It's up near the dashboard.
The rest of the vacuum lines are used to drive the vents.
