I'm getting to know this new dream of a woman in my life. Initially we emailed and chatted online. The subject of cars were brought up: what do you drive, what would you like to drive. Her choices were considerably worthy - BMW or Audi sedans. When I mentioned driving a restored classic SAAB 900 her response was, "Isn't that the funny looking car?" Thinking fast I responded with, "Well, mine is the 4 door sedan, and an early vintage (82) model which has considerable more charm than some of the later models. Of course, if we're talking new cars, the 9-5 is one hot car!" I then went on to describe the restoration effort, appealing to her sense of understanding and appreciation for how I - through sheer determination and far ranging skills, devotion and sentimental love for a car - how I saved this car from death. I added that my next restoration project will be a vintage BMW.

OK, the main reason for restoring the 900 initially was because funds were low. And that last part about intending to restore a BMW may have been a lie, but I can't have an otherwise discerning woman think my car is funny looking! Even if she does think that but doesn't tell me when we go for a drive, the superb ride and killer sound system will surely wash all concerns away. I'm also considering giving her a tour beneath the hood and I may even let her drive it. Any other car/woman damage control tips?
