I'd say $1,100 is a good deal, that is if you dont have to invest a fortune in having it fixed, some spending would be ok though (Have you seen what people have been asking for this year spg at the classifieds??? $7,000+ seems to be thr going rate).
Have it looked at by a professional and assess the damage, see how much it will take to fix. Sure, the car will be harder to sell with a salvaged title, but if you dont care about selling the car, dont worry about it. I am in a similar situation, I have an '85 SPG that I have thousands into, I could never get it back if I sold it, so I probley wont ever sell it. :)
Anyhow, I guess if it was me, and the car was in good shape and could be fixed easily....I'd buy it!
Good luck.
