If your gage runs about 40% on hiway, that's a good sign ... rad likely not too bad.
The 2.1L tends to corrode ... go with townsend's favorite MB coolant.
Get a new t-stat and a new exp tank cap. Replace upper rad, bypass, and heater hoses (eliminate the special valve if there), if they are original. Pressure test when finished.
A some point, do the saab fix (townsend site) to get both fans to ome on when hot.
