DIN slot in console, what is there? Posted by Scotty [Email] (#7352) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Scotty) on Mon, 8 Jul 2002 12:04:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have an 86 900S with the stock Clarion radio. The tape player is history, and I'll be getting a new radio/cassette. I'm toying with moving the radio to the DIN slot on the lower console, but I don't know what is currently there. It has the key holes like the radio, and I've pulled it out and seen that something is back there, it's heavy and has wires going to it, and appears to be part of the audio system. What is this, and will I need it for the new radio? Or is it superfluous, part of a radio upgrade I don't have?
Thanks for any help.
BTW, my car is an 86, but it was built in August 85 as an 86 model car. Also, I'd love to get a CD player, but the wife wants tapes for our son (we have many tapes to occupy him). I can always put in a changer if it causes me too much pain.
