before I learned to do mine myself I think I paid $400 (6 years ago).
Not a tough DIY job if you have a warm place to work and are prepared with proper tools and parts. I've seen the pulley on ebay for as little as $39 or something. I used the Townsend instructions (per Gorper link) and had no problems - and did the crank seal and o-ring while there.
