A couple of months ago I had an intermittent ignition problem that turned out to be a shattered crankshaft pulley. The pulley ate the keyway for lunch and to replace the key I had to remove the timing chain cover and decided to remove the head for easier access. Plus i would be sure of the condition of the timing chain, etc. After removing the head I found that the timing chain cover was cracked where it bolts to the head. That was where a lot of the oil was leaking from. Soooo...I replaced the key, timing chain, Got a used replacement timing chain cover which was in excellent condition, new head gasket and filled the oil pump with vaseline and put it all back together according to the bentley manual and it runs great........but no oil pressure.

Sooo...I took the oil pump back off and removed the oil pressure relief valve...cleaned out all the vaseline. Removed the oil filter housing and blew air down the passageway to the pump and it was all clear...reinstalled the oil pump , relief valve and crankshaft pulley...primed the pump and reinstalled the oil filter housing and started it up again,,, I got oil up to the filter but the oil pressure light stays on and the lifters are loud still.......it has a new oil pressure sending unit and the light goes out when disconnected........

I am really frustrated at this point. I am worried if it is getting any oil anywhere and I will run it to long trying to resolve the problem...... Any Help is appreciated.......Adam
