While i never got the AH, I still haven't given up. My son wants a 100-4 so maybe he'll satisfy the desire. I had a 72 triumph spit (slow as spit, worst year i think, still fun). 79 fiesta and a couple bmw's. 2 900t's now.
Both the triumph and the saabs were easy to work on. My cars are always only 90-95% sorted so there's always something to monkey with.
Re 3.8 jag mkII, we had some used ones on the lot at a (jag, tri, volvo, jeep, ciroen, borgward) dealership i worked in during summer of 65. The jags were nice rides, brakes were not the best, but probably never flushed. Ignition was tempermental. I still loved to drive them home at night. Mark X and the first 3.8 S were out then and very nice. I'd consider either now, but you don't see too many.
