Hello Micah, where in NC is this car ?(I am in Charlotte :0) )
OK, he could be right on the slave. However, my $0.02. My son had an 87T which he totaled out, and we purchased an 89Base which we swapped the entire drivetrain & wiring into (don't EVER do this). His original clutch on the 87T letout & hooked up "at the carpet" as I say. After replacing the clutch master & line, it was still the same. Blead it and hard as a rock, but still in the carpet. Finally I purchased a replacement clutch pedal assy, bushings & pins, and Shazam now it lets out at the top of pedal travel (almost fully out). So don't overlook the pedal! Also however the car never leaked any brake fluid, so I presume the slave is OK. However, it has just toasted the pinion bearings (with 233K on the clock) so now I am looking at yet another tranny rebuild (did my 90T last year). So once this guy gets the thing running, for certain roadtest for the dreaded popping out of gear (2,3,R), and finally the highway speed test with windows closed & everything off to listen for the pinion bearing death song. With the mileage, of course it is nearly time for a headgasket, so you might consider doing a cranking compression test, and/or look for oil in the coolant reservoir and/or high levels of oil on the dipstick, and/or the white residue on the tailpipe (Blown HG).
I am green with envy, can't seem to find an SPG near Charlotte for less than $5K.
Good luck, it should run like a scalded dog.
