Hello all.

Daniel in Portland, Oregon.

Thought I'd introduce myself, as I've just taken posession of my first Saab - a 1991 900 Turbo Convertible w/ 90k miles - and will probably be posting newbie-type questions here from time to time. So, I thank you in advance for your patience and advice!

I'm grokking to my new ride, and waiting for a sunny weekend so I can drop the top and tool around. As of this writing, it's mechanically sound, and just a few cosmetics on my mind as far as repairs go.

So out with my first newbie queries:
Any recommendations for new parts? Salvage parts? Rebuilt parts? Locally (Portland / Vancouver, Salem) as well as internet-based...

The black plastic housing on the passenger side-view mirror has a chunk missing. If I had the chunk, I'd just glue it back on, but I'm chunk-less.
So, are the housings sold separately, or am I relegated to buying a whole new assembly? (mirrors are power & heated)

I'll need a new top sometime soon. Just the outer canvas - the rear glass and surrounding panel seem ok, as is the interior headliner. I prefer to buy the pieces myself and pay someone to install them later. I'd probably get the best quality I can afford, ie: OEM or maybe one step down, but definitely not the cheapest end of the spectrum.
Questions:
- Aside from the top itself, are there any other bits I should have inspected / replaced at the same time?
- Is there a clear favorite in a supplier for top pieces?

Any wisdom to impart to a first-time owner, in general or specific to my 900? (PS: it's an automatic - I sorta wanted the 5-speed but no quality ones were showing up around here, so...)

Thank you and best regards,
-Daniel
