Bro's sweet 90 SPG rear ended, pretty bad :( Questions

Hey everyone.....
My brother's 90 Talladega Red SPG was rear ended last night. He was innocently stopped at a red light. Car coming up fast behind him, guy said he noticed the other light turning yellow at the intersection, and tried to "time it", and slammed right into my brother as the light was still red. (What kinda excuse is that???!!!!) My brother saw him coming up fast at the last second and popped it into first to try and get outta there, but he was hit right as he got it in 1st.
Damage:
-Rear end looks pushed down a bit.
-Rear bumper looks fine, just some marks on it.
-Both rear quarter panels badly bent/bowed out above the wheel wells.
-Both seams with the doors are now very tight...doors open and shut, but barely.
-Tranny will not shift, feels all messed up. Key stuck in ignition, since reverse cannot be engaged.
Any advice? How much luck have you guys had with these SPGs getting appraised by insurance companies? I know "book value" and "street value" among enthusiasts for these cars are very different.
Thank goodness he was in a SAAB, the headrest caught his head well. In a differnt car, it could have been very severe. He's very distraut over the car, its not an easy car to replace. The fact that it was hit for such an idiotic reason adds to it as well.
Thanks for any advice and/or support guys!
Alex
