quite a weight difference between -86 and 87 too! i just went thru this exercise trying to figure out why the brake pedal went to the floor after bleeding my brakes - thought the MC had failed on my 87 SPG so went to my significant used-parts inventory (all pre-87 parts btw) and went to switch out the MC - then noticed i'd have to switch booster as well.
so i did that. luckily had kept the two short hard brake lines from a previous car so could slap them on too...
then i figured out my bleeding procedure errors... oh well now i have a spare 87+ unit on the shelf...
