I have a 88SPG and I think I need to replace my turbo (or do I???) as it is leaking oil internally. My mechanic also said that it is starting to go. I didnt even suspect it heading south, but he said it was going. I dont see any smoke or anthing to make me suspect otherwise, but I do trust what he says. I have found a place close by that does Saab Parts very well. They have the turbo that I need for my car,
http://www.saabsite.com/900old/c900turbo.htm
But I happened upon this site while checking around,
http://www.turbocalculator.com/sale-garrett.php
As you can see it has most Garrett turbos , I'm thinking that the top one will fit on my car, however I don't know what size compressor trim and turbine housing I need to get. As you can see the prices aren't too horrible (I hope).
Also, I think I can do this turbo swap myself, so what else do I need? Like gaskets, hoses, and whatnot?? I'd like to not have to send it into the shop unless I absolutely need to, I could definitely use some help on this one.
Thanks,
DanF.
