Exactly why I'm not moving to California soon Posted by Saana88 [Email] (#207) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saana88) on Fri, 28 Jan 2005 18:41:48 In Reply to: Enraged driver incident: my Saab won, MS, Fri, 28 Jan 2005 11:05:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
You guys do that way too much. I know, your transportation system is overburdened and people decide to do stupid stuff to discourage use of commuter rail but you still rage way too much. A few points:
1. I don't have a turbo. My pinions are making noise. I don't dare get over 80 because if the tranny locks it'll most likely kill me.
2. 193k, seventeen year old car. As soon as somebody goes too far and bends one piece of sheet metal my car is as good as dead.
3. Regardless of whose fault it is, 450 super duties are going to cremate a 900 and back and neck injuries will be with you the rest of your life.
4. They don't need high beams to make the f$%in' lights annoying.
5. Tuck in behind and draft. They displace the air anyway, why not save a buck on gas while you're at it?
6. Any sort of ticket over 85-90 means you won't be able to drive yer car for a good, long time, and short-wave radio travels even faster than a maxed out SPG.
The last reactions I have are usually when it's a minivan or (gasp!) Oh, no! A pissed off New "Beetle" owner. My reaction is usually something along the lines of "you expect me to be intimidated by that POS? A Caravan with a 3 liter six will give my car a run for its money, but can we stop?
A local road-emotion incident 20 miles north of me made national attention. '84 S moves to pass Bronco, Bronco speeds up, crest of hill, Toyota coming the other way, 900 going 80+ offset-hits Camry in fiery impact killing 900 driver, Camry driver, and Camry driver's two children. 900 bent back to B pillars, Camry looks like hit by train, and Bronco driver and his lawyer get out of charges and pay a $350 fine.
Nice to hear you won, though.
