But there are a number of things on my car that aren't worth saving. For instance, the steering rack has been leaking for a while, one of the cv boots is torn, the clutch slips at high boost pressure (~2/3 into the red), the sunroof isn't quite right, etc, etc... The wiring harness is suffering from the '85-'86 "bio-degrade" syndrome near the fuel rail and the radiator. Not to mention that I don't own an engine hoist.
My plan is to search for a well-maintained, rust-free turbo car, and spiff it up with an assortment of performance and luxury parts from my collection, and possibly give a newer model the pre-'87 "snub-nose" look. The current SPG was a reclaimation project which extended its life from 159,000 miles to 243,000. I'd prefer not to have to put as much work into my next ride just to make it roadworthy.
