86 NA 8v should be the CSI injection system...
I would suspect that it is the cold start vavle/injector that is on the throttle body. It comes on when the engine is cold to get get fuel to the engine right away, if it is not functioning it takes time for the engine to draw enough fuel in to start. You can remove the cold start injector place in a container and check to see if it is working by trying to start the car when it is cold. If there is no fuel, which I suspect you will find, that is your problem.
