leakfree system, you won't be losing r-12 for a few years, so the cost is basically one time till you have probs again or open the system up.
check your hose ends where they go into the components, if the rubber part twists at the crimp on part, bye bye gas. hoses can be manufactured relatively cheaply as i recall from past posts.
if you're looking for "cheap" re-fills for a leaky system then the ra-134 will be much better cuz you cannot go out and buy r-12 on a sunday afternoon at pep boys or autozone. the r-134 is more environmentally friendly that is true. just a couple of pennies to muddy the waters.
