I wish I had seen it before I did what I did.
It doesn't look like a Monster Truck (with wheels jutting way out from the axles), but the rims sit perfectly flush with the outter lip of the fender flare so that the extra thickness of the tire that comes off the rim is what sticks out. Not bad, just not what it was like with the oem wheels.
I'm at a loss now. I just spent some big $$$ on the tires, rims, and mounting, and wish it worked out better. The wheels look awesome on the car (as they do on my 9000), but I really don't like how it sits higher. I always enjoyed riding in the 900 because of the "low-ness" and better center of gravity feeling it gave versus riding in my 9000 (which of itself is an equally fantastic ride with the Aero suspension, just different than the 900), and now I no longer have that.
Actually, my car was parked next to an '89 SPG today (so I was told it was, but I was a little skeptical. VIN # was YS3AL35L6K3------. SPG?), and both cars appeared to have had the same ground clearance even with my new tire set-up. I know my front springs have the red bands and the rear has the green, so I assume this to be the normal turbo suspension.
