Valve Cover Gasket UH-OH?

Just finished replacing my valve cover gasket (91 900s); THEN read the poasts about why not to use sealant/glue...
I put a bead not too much about 2mm in the valve cover channel, then about the same on the outer-edge of the mount on the car, and around the bolt holes. finger tightened and left for the night (will torque tomorrow).
Is it really a bad thing that I used sealantin this way? I mean is the chance of some silicon causing some kind of plug by flaking off into the oil THAT likely? or;should i redo it?
thanks~
