So ya...its a crappy job with cut up nuckles afterwards...eh?
I took another nut that fits on the screw, screwed it on just a little bit, and then used this to grab onto with vice grips...I pulled down on the screw/nut with the vice grips with one hand and then loosened the other nut via open-ended wrench...
Going in from the top is just too much work and if you decide to do this, replace the fabric at the same time...but that is only if you are attempting to also replace the header and deck 'fabric' within a year or so....
