Rebuilt Axels are rebuilt, not new. The rebuilt CV joint will fail long before a new joint. A new lobro (OE) CV joint costs twice what a rebuilt axel costs, and installing a CV joint takes longer than installing a rebuilt axel, but you'll get a longer service life out of the new joint.
If I were planning to get rid of the car in 6 months, I might consider the rebuilt axel, but if its a keeper, buy a new joint instead.
Better SAAB independents all steer clear of rebuilt axels.
