Front seal & oil pump o-ring advice needed

I am swapping out a bad engine (rod knock) and shot auto trans for used engine with rebuilt 5 speed. While the engine is on the bench, I'm going to change seals, water pump, all rubber bushings, hoses & belts. My question is about the front seal. Iwas going to save the crank pulley from the old engine, as it had not been slipping. When I pulled it out, I noticed severe wear grooves from the front seal. I no w realize how important it is to change the front seal before installing the used engine (with a new pulley) but I am worried about changing the oil pump oring. It has been my opinion that these generally do not wear out, and if they seal now, it should seal for quite some time. The only time I have had trouble with o-ring seals has been when I changed valve cover gaskets, if not seated correctly, they leak like crazy. I wondering if I should leave the existing oil pump oring alone, and just change the seal, or replace both seal & o-ring. Anyone had problems with these?
