My '86 900s has been sitting for 1 1/2 yrs, and I start it eery few months...been planning on restoring it. Went to start it yesterday, and battery was dead so I put on my charger. Didnt realize it at the time, but the ignition key was on. About an hour later I noticed fuel leaking from the front...it was actually dripping out of the air filter housing! I removed the air mass meter, which also had fuel in it, and when I opened the trottle plate, fuel came gushing out - like the whole intake manifold was full of gas!!! I could not beleive it. Anyone know what happend?? I suspect:

- fuel pump was running while I was charging the battery
- system got 'over pressurized'
- fuel regulator failed
-fuel came through injectors and flooded it out

I suspect the cylinders are also full of fuel??

Tomorrow I will pull change spark plugs (let it also dry out) change oil/air filter. Any other items to be changed before I try to start it up??
