Greetings, all
I recently bought an '87T and have been fixing stuff and having a blast. Car is really excellent considering age, mileage (unknown) and what I paid for it (300 bucks). From 10 feet it looks damn near new. PO must have loved it cause everything he/she replaced was OEM. I love those kinda finds, don't you :-)? Interior needs work.
Anyway, getting to my question. I think I've been stuck in what Bentley calls "basic boost." I notice that my boost gauge never goes above mid yellow. Haven't done the vacuum test yet but did do the APC solenoid test (i.e., positive electricity to the two electric connectors on top of solenoid and blow on "R" valve.") It is shut in every case, with or without making the connectors hot. Just wanted to check if other people have done this test before and is it accurate? Don't wanna spend 150 bucks to replace a solenoid that ain't broke.
Thanks a ton. You guys/girls? are an incredibly helpful,
Philip
