My point is that the C900CV was not designed from the ground up to be a convertible - it was completely an afterthought. Mostly Bob Sinclair's afterthought. Yes, the windshield is different - so what? That needed to be done to add some extra rigidity to the structure (which is sadly lacking by modern standards, and not great even by 1986 standards) so they added a little more rake at the same time. It is still essentially an '86 900 2dr with the roof chopped off and a couple of good sized girders welded on underneath. Nobody stuck one in a wind tunnel and painstakingly adjusted things for optimum top-down airflow. And especially, you do NOT want to see what a C900CV looks like after a good hard side impact. Things are done very differently now, cars are designed to be convertibles from the get-go. Doesn't make the old ones any less charming though.
