You know the correct guage of this wire so that I can have some extra on hand? I always break something extra during a job.
The alt that is in the car is not a Bosch reman - it looks like something from AutoZoo - but the VR is going to be Bosch. Why not pay the extra $6 for a part from a company I'm sure I can trust?
I thought I remembered reading posts from people who had taken off the oil filter mount (my sweet Svetlana is getting a lube job also) and turning the long bolt around for easier access the next time around. Is there any sense in this? Am I just making this up?
My belts are half past dead, which I attribute to the deteriorated condition of the alt mount bushings. I'm way past tired of squealing at stop signs........And since I can do this all for far less than $50, on a rare 70 degree day (that's the prediction for Thurs) here in Central NY, why not? Its all the Zen and Art of Saab Repair.
