The intake manifold gasket is a fairly easy job. While your into removing the manifold, it would be a good time to replace the engine temp. sensor. Have you check the Ohm reading of the sensor at cold engine and then at operating temp. It should show a change. This sensor does the same thing as a choke on a carburetor version car, giving a richer fuel/air mixture upon start-up. If this sensor is faulty, the idle will suffer. Turbo model are more prone to a blown intake gasket, due to the turbo's build-up of pressure. And of coarse, O-rings and gaskets just get old.
