Help needed with Clutch Bleeding Posted by Jake [Email] (#225) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jake) on Tue, 15 Jul 2008 18:03:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Last week while driving my clutch pedal got hard to press in, and after a few times like this, it went completely limp. After researching the problem here I rebuilt the Master Cylinder.
Here's where I need help. To bleed the system afterwords, I purchased the $50 pressure bleeding pump from eeuroparts, following the directions I filled it with fluid, got it up to pressure and released the nipple on the slave. After seeing all the air bubbles disappear I reassembled the the turbo piping above the slave, and started the car. Initially the clutch pedal was rebuilding resistance, and then went limp. I repeated this process a few times, more air came out of the system each time, but the stream would go solid, I'd reassemble, and there would be no resistance. I did this 3 or so times, pushing 48oz of brake fluid through the system.
Is there something I did wrong in the bleeding process? Is the fact it was getting better and then stopped a sign of encouragement? Could the problem lie somewhere else?
Thanks in advance for your expertise.
