If I read you correctly, it's leaking on the side where the oil dipstick is??? If that is the case the following are suspects.
The lower radiator hose, starts up at the water pump near the fire will and runs all the way to the bottom left side of the radiator. It also has a fork down near the radiator to the turbo. Three clamps, at the water pump, the lower radiator, and the tributary to the turbo.
The water pump could be leaking and running down the lower hose...
There are two heater hoses that run at or near the water pump, again could run down on something else.
The radiator resivour hose to the water pump and then at the res. Sometimes the res cracks *underneath* and dumps water down the inside of the wheel well.
See if you can put the cardboard on something such that it is within an inch or so of the bottom of the engine so that you can get a better direction of the leak.
