Glove box stuck closed-help!

My 92 900 glovebox door is stuck.
The two buttons which you press to open
are not sprung out in the normal position,
they are loose in their travel.
I've pushed, tapped, etc. trying to get it
open to no avail.
To make matters worse-the key to my gascap
is in there(and less than 1/4 tank left)!
Is there a way to get into this thing without breaking the
door!!!????? Thanks guys!
