Vacuum Connection for HVAC system Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Sat, 27 Dec 2008 08:55:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I haven't posted here for a while since moving to the 9000 board. I am visiting my brother who has a 1991(?) C900 Turbo convert and we went for a ride yesterday with the top down. I tried to use the heat (it's cold out!) but air would only come out of the dash vents, not from the floor. I can also hear a loud hissing inside the dash - hmmmmmm, appears to be a vacuum leak on the hose that goes to the HVAC control switch?
Before I tear into it, I would like to know where/how this hose goes through the firewall. Is it a simple connection of a hose on a metal tube that might have been blown off? Can I get to it through the driver's side speaker hole, or does the dash need to come off? Is there a one-way valve on the vacuum line somewhere (my guess as the cause of this problem)?
