Pre-pump or Main Pump? Posted by EverettDave [Email] (#1894) [Profile/Gallery] (more from EverettDave) on Tue, 30 Dec 2008 22:58:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
New challenge presented by my '89 SPG. 163,000 maintained miles. Loss of power at 2800-3000rpm in 5th. Not missing, just slumps and will not boost. Lighten throttle and she comes back strong. Starts well, runs city streets fine, no noise from fuel pump, which may be original. Discovered that my fuel filter had 60,000 miles on it, so replaced that immediately, with no change in symptoms. Have read many postings and my Bentley, suspect the prepump. What do think? Also, at this mileage, is it wise to replace both supply and main pumps now? Thanking you in advance, I am EverettDave in WA state.
