I have the blue coil, is it possible that it is a heat soak problem in the coil or some other part of the ignition system? its odd, the car will run and Idle fine for days, then have the problem all day. I have the mixture on the fuel dist set just slightly rich, about 1/8 turn on the screw. Another possible problem that I was pondering was that with the rich setting, it loads up and gets out of range for the 02 sensor and the ecm to cope with the mixture and cant lean it out enough. Could the heat factor be just a coincidence? The car has an 87 16v NA block mated to an 8v head that has been shaved .075. My best guess is the CR is prob close to 12/1. I have to check the timing again, but IIRC I had to advance the timing to get it to not detonate. The cold start ducting (the flex duct that takes warm air off the exhaust was removed when I installed the MSS header and exhaust. That does not seem to be a factor in my shutting off problem tho. I was considering getting a brand new set of injectors, I think mine just dribble fuel. Its hard to start and stumbles and backfires, it blows smoke out the tailpipe until you rev it up good a few times then cleans up. it will leave a little smoke behind me if I am hard on the gas. i think partially the rich mixture combined with drippy injectors?

with all these problems the car pulls hard at wide open throttle !!!
Where are all the 8v tuners???? Someone has to know how to tune these things for power and keep the driveability issues away.
