The flywheel/crankshaft bolts are 5mm shorter for manual tranny flywheel compared to automatic tranny ring gear. Can shorten with cutoff wheel on Dremel tool with some touch up on ends to make certain they start threading properly. I use Blue Loctite on these as nut lock and thread sealant. The reason people may buy/borrow $100 tool or make their own is to prevent big end seal lip spring from popping off after being tapped in or getting cockeyed. If this happens, crankshaft chews spring into many sharp little bits which damage oil pump and jam open oil pressure relief valve causing low oil pressure and need for major repairs.
