Dielectric Grease...what's the story here? Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Wed, 8 Jul 2009 14:55:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've seen conflicting reports on it's intended function. Does it provide lubrication and a "seal" to keep moisture out and still allow the flow of electrons. So in this scenario you would want to coat the metal connectors themselves. (but then again shouldn't one be concerned about it bridging electrons accross connectors?) Or, does it prevent the flow of electrons therefore sealing in any possible outside "interference"...so, don't use on connectors. Always been confused about it's intended use and therefore my tube has sat in the tool chest for many years.
