You also have the shaft that goes through the whole mess.
It's worth while to also take the bolts of the starter and push it back a bit. That will make it easier.
If you have a Saab slave, you probably want to rebuild it. O'Reilly's have the o-ring for just about free.
I've had issues with three slaves that failed due to bad o-rings. They were all twisted and failed within a year.
So I'd check and most likely replace the o-rings in what ever you use as a replacement.
If you can't get it to bleed (I do it in stages - end of the clutch line then through the slave), more than likely the master is stuck in. Just pull it out, put your finger over the end and cycle the plunger. If you have two people, you could do it in the car. So you may want to spend the $6 for a rebuild kit for that too.
Then all you have to do is wait for the clutch line to fail - or you can get that one redone for under $40 at a hydraulic line shop.
