This was a really easy job with all the info on this board. Barely 2 beers. The Bentley is not really of much help here becuase there are differences between the model years. The o-ring was there, I just assumed it would be between the pump and retaining ring, but actually it was between the tank and pump. I replaced this, and did not use vaseline, as I believe that is for the older style pumps. The kit eeuro sent me has a piece of fuel hose around 4" long. I cut this to about 2" long to match the original piece I discarded. Otherwise the kit was a perfect match. The pump drops back into the tank easier than it comes out. I did not use replacement o-rings on the fuel lines, and do not have any leaks. I would probably recommend replacing these though, as it's only $10 and you know you probably won't have to mess with it again. I also forgot to replace the foam support before connecting the fuel and power connections. I have to decide whether it's worth it to remove the lines, or cut the foam so it will slip underneath them. Probably the latter. Car runs great now. I can barely hear the pump running with my head in the hatch, and the floor still removed. Car runs a lot better too. Not only does it not stall, but letting off the gas in gear is much smoother, where before it was very jerky. I think I am able to boost a little bit more without knock as well. I would not hesitate to do this job again. I would also never consider buying a used fuel pump with how easy, and relatively cheap, the insert kits are.
