Removing 1993 headlight

I got the parts needed to replace the broken headlight adjusters for my 1993 900 S. I followed the steps in Bently removing the parking light assembly etc but the light was not about to come out. The example they show is without the wiper and I think that is what's causing the complication. Any suggestions? Also are there any tricks to reinstalling the clips to the adjusters?
thanks
