Is it a "real" Saab, probably.
Is it a "real" SPG, no. Saab USA never sold a Convertible that they called "SPG", in any year.
In 1988, there were the "Springtime in Sweden" (SiS) Convertibles, black/black on grey, with a special "SiS" badge on the glovebox door. These had the Aero (aka "SPG" in the US/Canada markets) side skirts and Aero wheels, but did not have the lowered suspension, nor the extra power. SiS was named after a dealer tour of Sweden back in 1988. Each dealer got one of these cars.
In 1991, there were the "Special Edition" (SE) Convertibles. These were either Monte Carlo Yellow or Platana Grey, black tops, grey interiors (I think the MC Yellow got the dark grey, the Platana the light grey). Also with the Aero side skirts, and the Aero wheels, and still without the lowered suspension or the higher horsepower.
The only Convertible sold in the US with more than the 160/165 HP of the "regular" B202L was the 1994 Commemorative Edition, which saw the 185 HP version owing to factory installation of the "red box" APC kit. This car was painted in"Nova Black" a metallic black, tan top, tan interior, with special dark piping on the seats. But no Aero side skirts.
