When the crack has wandered over the vertical part and starts to turn over to the horizontal area, it is no guarantees anymore when it brakes.
It shows the different levels of rust as the crack has grown and then upper and lower part is the last clean break.
And it always follows the outer edge of the weld on the other side perfectly.
That's why I suspect it to be a metallurgic change from the welding procedure that haven't been heat treated properly afterward.
