I've got 5 vehicles, two Saabs and 3 Toyotas. My philosophy is always have one more than the number of drivers. (Number required 'N' +1). 4 drivers in the family.
Saabs fit in this scenario well. Cheap to keep if you DIY, especially at this age, and the insurance on 5 older cars is probably less than 4 newer cars. My oldest is my 1990 Saab convertible, and my newest is a 2005 minivan. (All 5 use the same oil filter!)
You have to buy into this philosophy completely to make it work. Car broke... not a problem, get the spare out, get the tools out too. This site always makes the two Saabs easier to maintain.
