Okay, I'll stir the pot a little about '90 EGR/Calif... I THINK: All 1990 SPGs came with the "wire wound pipe EGR system" on them. Then Saab issued a recall to remove that EGR system from all CALIFORNIA-sold SPGs, using kit #93 21 803 (might still be available for $1150!). The kit included appropriate parts and decals. Many other 1990 SPGs have had the EGR system removed both LEGALLY and ILLEGALLY.
I have a '90 SPG California car (first sold in CA.). It does NOT have the wire-wound-pipe-EGR-system on it. It DID come equipped with that system from the factory. The vacuum routing tag says "US/50 1990". There is another tag on the fenderwell which appears to have been installed at a dealership. It states "Emission Recall Completed"; "Recall Campaign No. 281"; and lists the Dealer Code which performed the recall.
If you want to read more info, search "281". Vern
