Have an 88' that just blew the head gasket. Was planning on replacing, but when I had it up on a jack on the passenger side, the car(which is oh so rusty) collapsed back to the floor with the floor jack still up. It left about a 18" round hole on passenger side floor board and door sill area, the jack contact stayed with the jack when I lowered it. Wow! made a heck of a noise when she started back down. I knew it was bad, but that combined with other issues -more RUST, blown HG- makes this a donor car for parts for another 88'900 I've been working on that needs a tranny. So I'm taking every good part off this 88 900s with 264k and off she goes to the yard, sad to see her done, but she was a good Saab. Had 186k on it when I bought it. On the + side, I'm salvaging a rebuilt trans with 80k, Intrax springs, clutch 10k, etc....., will go to the yard basically a shell.
