First, know what kind of mounts you have. You'll need to look on the car and on the eeuroparts site. Go to eeuroparts site, select Saab, 1989, 900 Classic 16valve non-turbo, and Engine mounts in the dropdowns. The first three line items on the page are the rubber mounts, and the fourth is the side hydraulic. non-turbos didn't get the front hydraulic right away.
If your car still has the rubber mounts, then all 3 can be changed with the motor in the car. You'll have to jack up the motor slightly at different points, and getting the two nuts that hold the side mounts to the top of the driveshaft tunnels can be tricky, but there's nothing really difficult about any of them.
If your car has the hydraulics, then the front and right side (exhaust side of the motor) can be changed pretty easily. Don't even try the left side hydraulic mount unless you absolutely, positively know it is bad, or the motor is coming out of the car for another reason. I did it once, and the mount was found to be not bad, but I put the new one in anyway, as the trouble to get to it wasn't worth re-installing the old one.
