if you have to stop suddenly. I drove my 93 convertible like this for a couple of months until I saved up for the brake repair job. And I probably could have done the repair myself after learning about the failed "bomb" condition.
It wasn't fun driving like this, but the brakes WERE THERE, just little to no power assist. Like driving an old truck. Drive conservatively and you can drive it.
It was actually scary driving with me AFTER the repair when I forgot what the power assist originally felt like.
