Yep, that sounds an awful lot like a boost hose has torn. You can determine whether it's an APC problem by clamping off the hose to the wastegate. Darcy has it backwards, when the wastegate hose is disconeccted or clamped off the wastegate will remain closed and boost will be unregulated=unlimited. The wastegate opens when pressurized air goes through that hose and pushes the wastegate open. The APC solenoid, driven by the APC brain, is what directs the flow of that air from the compressor to either the wastegate or the induction plumbing. So clamp off the hose and if the car boosts like crazy then you have an APC problem and if it still won't boost then you most likely have a split boost hose (the large rubber boots that couple the post-compressor induction plumbing). The angular one that clamps onto the compressor output is the typical cuprit.
