87 900T Considered "Classic" by Ins. Co. Posted by SaabAficionado [Email] (#758) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SaabAficionado) on Thu, 31 May 2012 10:48:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So I've been paying like 800 bucks a year to insure my baby with liability only coverage. Well, although there were plenty of these cars made and plenty left they are getting a bit rarer and will continue to and there is no way I am going to be able to replace my car should I get in a "total loss" wreck or damagages that exceed a thousand dollars, which is what they will give you for your car if you have only liability; they consider it as merely an old almost worthless car.
Anyway, long story short I figured what the hay, called a major agreed value, collector car ins. company and BAAAM! I now have her insured for 5K with full comprehensive and liability coverage, roadside assistance, etc. (the exact same coverage I have on my new car). Now if someone or I(God forbid) whack my rear quarter it will be covered to fix it properly and for a quarter of what I was paying for liability-only.
Bottom line to me is that they said these cars would appreciate in value and just recently had them classified as collectible, suggesting they are very smart people with excellent taste...either that or they just wana make another buck...I'm gonna assume the former rather than the latter :)
