I think it IS unusual to break that stud off, but not unheard of, apparently. Nut removal? - I've got a nut-cracker (wife) which is a circle with a wedge threaded into the side of the ring - tighten the bolt-head of the wedge and it drives the wedge into the side of the nut, and eventually cracks it. I would use that thing on the nut, or maybe a dremel tool with cutting disc. Or a hacksaw? Nothing wrong with a good used unit - just take a wire brush with you to the junk yard, clean the A-Arm, and inspect it looking for cracks. Pay a bit to have the yard remove the used A-Arm. Some type of metal fatigue must be involved, but I'm not smart enough for that stuff. I did buy new bolts from NAPA, and welded them onto the broken A-Arms with a MIG-Welder. Then I torqued the new nuts onto the A-Arms, plus 10 ft. lbs. to test the weld. I'm still not too sure I'd reuse those A-Arms, however. But I think they'd be fine now. Vern
