Swapping the skins (only) is not hard. I've done it several times; most recently last week when I installed new leather from Saabstuff. There are 3-4 clips that hold the leather to the front and back of each seat and 5 hooks/seat that you access from the seat bottom. See the twinsaabs page for detailed instructions, but you can probably swap both sides in about an hour and a half (first time, not including the time getting them in and out of the car.

A better idea is to buy a set of good used skins off fleabay (about $75-100, although lately I've seen people asking outrageous prices for them). I may even have a set I'll send you for the price of shipping but they may be a little dodgy or need some additional stitching (send me an email with your phone number and we'll talk about it).
